Welcome to Fox Music Production, the website where I (Arthur Fox) share everything I’ve learned about music production. My goal, with this project, is to teach you the skills you need to bring your musical ideas to life on record and make them sound as good as possible!
Whether you’re an aspiring producer working out of a spare room or already have a career in the music industry, I want to help you polish your skills in writing, arranging, recording, editing, mixing, mastering and all the other processes that go into music production.

How To Use This Website
I’ve set this website up as an ever-expanding reference guide. Therefore, I’d recommend you use it as such — to come back regularly to learn specific concepts of the music production process and find inspiration for your own work.
I’ve included “calls to action” in each of my articles with steps you can take to better familiarize yourself with the concepts, practice them, and ultimately utilize them in your own work. I encourage you to try them out.

The Fox Music Production Story
Fox Music Production grew out of my website My New Microphone, which focuses primarily on how audio equipment works. After trying to combine my gear-related website with my passion for learning, doing and teaching music production, I decided to start an entirely new project dedicated specifically what I’m most excited about: producing music!
And thus, Fox Music Production was started in 2024. But the full story begins well before that…
I’ve had an interest in music production since before I ever learned a musical instrument. This interest would continue to grow as I grew as a musician. Combining the technical and aspects of my favourite art form has turned out to be my life’s work.
I moved from humble beginning messing around with friends, to producing my own bands and solo projects (which I still do today) and ultimately making audio engineering my profession.
From the excitement and frustration that come with being new to music production, to working professionally as an audio engineer, I know the struggles and triumphs that come with learning and practicing music production. I’ve been there, and I’ve also been writing and teaching since 2018, so it’s my hope that my experience can help you through the content here at Fox Music Production!
About Arthur Fox
Over the last seven years, I have been dedicated to being an instructor of audio engineering and music production. Along with working online and producing my own music (under the name Arthur Fox), I am also a full-time audio engineer at Village Works Content Company in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Over the last decade or so, I have worked in professional studios, live venues and broadcasting outfits as well as producing my own music, giving me a wide range of experience and expertise in the audio field.

While I’m always looking to learn more and improve my skillset and ears, I do feel confident enough in my abilities to teach music production with Fox Music Production. It’s taken a while to get to where I’m at, and I want to be the mentor I never had to help you produce the music you love.
